Albert Agarunov

He is  a National Hero of Azerbaijan Republic.

He died defending Azerbaijan's territorial integrity against Armenian aggression .

He was born in Baku but he was from Mountain Jewish family  ( Quba  is a city in  Azerbaijan). 

He served as a tank commander in the defense of Shusha ( the city  which was seized by 

Armenian forces on May 9, 1992) He was one of the last man who fought until the last moment .

He was one of the best tankist during the Karabakh war .


His death was dramatic :he killed by sniper when he left the tank  because of pulling the Azeri soldier the other side not to passing on.

He was buried at Martyrs' Lane in Baku.
