Albert Agarunov

He is  a National Hero of Azerbaijan Republic.

He died defending Azerbaijan's territorial integrity against Armenian aggression .

He was born in Baku but he was from Mountain Jewish family  ( Quba  is a city in  Azerbaijan). 

He served as a tank commander in the defense of Shusha ( the city  which was seized by 

Armenian forces on May 9, 1992) He was one of the last man who fought until the last moment .

He was one of the best tankist during the Karabakh war .


His death was dramatic :he killed by sniper when he left the tank  because of pulling the Azeri soldier the other side not to passing on.

He was buried at Martyrs' Lane in Baku.

Dzhokhar Dudayev

Dzhokhar Dudayev     15 February 1944 – 21 April 1996 

 He was born in  Chechen-Ingush Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic (ASSR).

  

He  was  the first President of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria .

His family was  forced to deportation to Siberia.

He entered the Tambov Higher Military Aviation School for Pilots.

He participated in the Soviet war in Afghanistan.

 He ignored the orders and did not attack on the  Estonian National Movement.

He resigned from Soviet army.

He returned to Chechenya in 1990  and entered political life .

Rerendum in October 1991 confirmed Dudayev as a president the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria.

Russia refused to recognize the republic's independence.On December 1994, the Russians began bombing Grozny.

He declared war on Russia and a jihad also declared on Russia bu Mufti of Ichkeria.

He  was killed on 21 April 1996 by missiles  while he was using satellite phone.
